The Debut of "Uprooting Anger"

Posted Sep 25, 06:13 PM by Kay Camenisch

At last! “Uprooting Anger: Destroying the Monster Within” will debut this week at a Coalition of Prison Evangelists (COPE) Conference in Dallas, Texas. Wednesday through Saturday we will have the opportunity to meet and present the book to people who volunteer in prisons throughout the United States.

Our anticipation of what God will do with the book has been growing. Reports from Chaplain Glover continue to be exciting as he studies it with the fourth group of inmates. One of the participants said he’d been through two anger management courses since being sent to prison. He said that neither one of them helped him at all, but that Uprooting Anger was changing his life. Chaplain Glover added, “You don’t understand. These men will keep this book for the rest of their lives because it is life to them. They’ll keep going back to it. It is life.” (Knowing that it is based on the Bible and full of God’s Word helps me to believe him.)

For us, complications continue. Because we couldn’t get the book from the publisher in time to have it for this conference, we produced a CD of the book so we’ll have a tangible product to show/sell at the conference. The cases were bought, covers made, and CDs professionally reproduced—everything ready—then the shipper lost the CDs! They were reportedly left on the porch last Monday—at an address that does not exist. It wasn’t at our house or at any of the neighbors. In other words, we headed to Dallas without CDs to sell.

God is faithful and is working His purposes out. First of all, the books are being shipped at this moment. They were ready early enough that we had one case of them shipped to Dallas and they are available for us to take to the conference. The rest will be waiting for us when we get back home. Secondly, on Monday our supplier agreed to reproduce a few more CDs and overnight them to Dallas so we will have them too. Consequently, we will have both book and CD to present!

Rejoice with us and pray that God’s purposes will be accomplished through “Uprooting Anger” and that He will receive glory and honor through it.
