EMMANUEL

Posted Dec 22, 07:15 AM by Kay Camenisch

“And she gave birth to her first-born son;
And she wrapped Him in cloths,
And laid Him in a manger,
Because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7)

Emmanuel, God with us
—Laid in a manger because man had no room for Him
—Hung on a cross, rejected by man
And yet, God is still with us.

This Christmas season may you find the joy and peace of Emmanuel.
—In the midst of hustle and bustle, family, friends, giving, and laughter
—In the rush, the pressure, the lists, the greed, and the loneliness,
May you find joy and peace, for indeed God is still with us.

  2. Kay, I promised this year that I would NOT let the hustle/bustle get to me and I would keep my eyes on the “real reason”. And I did! It was nearly Christmas and with my children all coming on the 22nd I was still not ready on Thursday…BUT it didn’t bother me. I felt at peace. We had a wonderful day together with family, it was the best in a long time since the children have been grown. Perspective. We were also challenged by our pastor to give to the annual Lottie Moon Offering (for foreign missionaries) an amount equal to what we spend on the most expensive gift and we did that. It felt good. We surpassed our goal at church by 1070 dollars so evidently we weren’t the only ones! I enjoy popping in occasionally and checking out your webpage. Blessings in the coming New Year.
